SEM involves the use of paid search ads, also known as   paid search advertising   or   PPC (Pay-Per-Click) ads , to promote a website or business. While SEO (Search Engine Optimization) focuses on organic search rankings, SEM is primarily about leveraging paid strategies to achieve visibility quickly.
